Midwest Services is recruiting on behalf of Villa Adastra Care Home, where residents are supported in a Christian environment that values compassion, creativity, and connection. We are looking for a passionate and energetic Team Leader to help deliver a rich and meaningful programme of activities that enhance the wellbeing of older residents, including those living with dementia.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll guide and support staff to create mentally and physically engaging experiences tailored to each resident’s history, interests, and capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support residents to live fulfilled, active lives through a person-centred activity programme

  • Deliver a 7-day schedule of engaging mental, physical, and social activities

  • Ensure activities reflect residents’ personal histories, preferences, and wellbeing needs

  • Lead, guide, and motivate care home staff in activity provision and resident engagement

  • Collaborate with the Head of Care and other Team Leaders to support holistic care

  • Keep detailed records of individual and group participation to assess outcomes

  • Recognise and respond to the non-verbal communication of residents with dementia

  • A genuine passion for improving the lives of older people

  • Experience working with individuals living with dementia

  • Creativity, flexibility, and initiative in planning and delivering activities

  • Confidence leading and supporting staff in a care setting

  • Strong communication skills and emotional intelligence

  • Understanding of wellbeing and psychological engagement in older adults

  • Willingness to work in a Christian care environment with shared values

  • Commitment to the mission, values, and ethos of Older People’s Services
