Midwest Services is recruiting on behalf of Skegness Corps, a well-established ministry and community expression of The Salvation Army in the East Midlands. Guided by the biblical mission of Isaiah 61:4, the Corps Leader will oversee the spiritual leadership, outreach, and daily operation of the Corps and its ministries, including the café which plays an integral role in community connection.

The successful candidate will lead by example, foster a welcoming and inclusive environment, and champion the five mission priorities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall leadership and direction to the Corps and its mission activities

  • Model a Christian lifestyle, lead worship, prayer, and community engagement

  • Oversee the daily operation of the Corps café as part of mission delivery

  • Foster an inclusive and welcoming environment for people of all backgrounds

  • Organise, develop, and deliver creative church and community outreach initiatives

  • Manage volunteers and encourage participation in worship, service, and discipleship

  • Maintain compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and The Salvation Army Code of Practice

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and leading worship

  • Strong background in church or community-based outreach and ministry

  • Ability to plan and deliver effective activities for diverse community groups

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Experience managing volunteers and overseeing local service delivery

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required

  • Occupational Requirement: Must be a Salvation Army Soldier actively engaged in worship and ministry

  • Commitment to upholding and working in accordance with the Corps Leader Code of Practice
